Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
It's a Greggs, similar to all the others.
Not a big shop but has seating. Currently Tuna Baguette is my go to sandwich. Very nice, adequate filling and good bread.
Struggling to find a better sausage roll for breakfast but sometimes they are a bit cold.
Coffee ok.
This shop does get a bit scruffy outside but there are not enough bins in the area.

A UK staple for quick and easy snack food. Hot food, refrigerated, sweet or savoury, hot or cold drinks... what more could you possibly need?

So.. I’m just gonna dive straight into this review. The sausage rolls are so amazing they taste just like entering H3. However… the yum yums were stale. Personally, this Greggs should be crowned the GGOAT (greatest Greggs of all time). I would slightly recommend.

As an American, I've always been personally curious about GR Eggs. The name is peculiar, and that has always enticed me. Though the food was worse than subpar, the atmosphere really made me feel at home. The Brit's sure know how to accommodate a real country man like me! Would recommend (if you can get past the food).

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
