  a very large tesco with many aisles. i was looking forward to buying an energy drink here during my day out, but unfortunately the meal deal section was very sparse and i didn’t like any of the flavours available on the shelf, as most were empty! hubby needed some nicquitin which he noted was slightly more expensive here, in comparison to other tesco stores we’ve visited. it also took a while to be age-approved at self scan as most of the colleagues were talking amongst themselves, we were not the only customers waiting.

  Has most things you might expect to find in a big supermarket. Friendly and helpful staff. First floor has good value domestic stuff such as kitchen ware and electrical appliances.

  Love to do shopping however today I struggled to get croissants due to height of the placement, sounds funny but it was really sad for me to keep stretching to look for any croissants there....

  I am posting this to highlight a deeply upsetting incident of discrimination that occurred today (Sunday, 28/06/2026) between 11:45 AM and 11:55 AM at the Beeston Extra store. As a visibly gay man of South Asian heritage, I expect to be able to do my grocery shopping without being subjected to prejudice. While I was waiting in the queue to be directed to the self-checkout, the female customer agent on duty looked at me and actively moved away to avoid interacting with me. Later, when I was completing my payment, she saw me again, looked me up and down, and made a visible facial expression of disgust. The staff member in question was of South Asian heritage and wearing a facial veil. This blatant display of homophobic judgment and rejection from a representative of Tesco left me in complete shock. Tesco claims to value diversity and inclusion, but the of this employee was entirely unacceptable, hostile, and unprofessional. I strongly urge store management to review the CCTV footage of the self-checkout area during this specific 10-minute window, identify the employee involved, and take appropriate disciplinary action. Nobody should be made to feel unwelcome or judged just for being themselves.
