  My partner and I came to use the fuel station. He went in to pay for his fuel and the lady who was serving today 16.8.26 at 5:52pm claimed his payment hadn’t gone through her end however he stated that the payment had left his bank account. She then started being rude and said he needed to pay again and it was a “him problem” he stated why should he pay again when the money had been taken out of his account and it was an issue their end. I then went in to speak to her, as soon as I walked in she gave me attitude and kept saying I needed to pay again. I relayed the fact it had gone out of his account, she then muttered under her breath “f*** sake”. I then asked her to stop being arsey and giving me attitude as she is a worker and should be professional. She then gave an excuse of “I’m on my own” to this I replied that isn’t my issue, my issue is you’ve taken two payments from us and are refusing to refund us. After she argued and gave us more attitude she said she’d give us a refund, however she refused to refund the full amount even though we had paid twice. We’ve looked on his bank account and the refund has been took back out to Tesco. So we’re now money down, and this lady is working a job that she probably shouldn’t be working. She has no customer service skills whatsoever, she was so incredibly rude, muttering swear words and giving attitudes when the issue was her fault. But again we are now money down when this could’ve been resolved instantly.

  Very disappointing experience at Tesco today. I was shopping with my 18-year-old son and was refused the purchase of high-caffeine energy drinks because he did not have his physical ID. He had a photo of his passport, and one member of staff specifically asked if he had a photo of his ID, while another then told us that photos were not accepted. Customers should not be given contradictory information by staff who are supposedly trained in the same policy. I cancelled the transaction and then attempted to purchase the drinks myself, without leaving the store or trying to hide what I was doing, but I was still refused. According to the UK Government, the statutory ban on selling high-caffeine energy drinks to under-16s is intended to come into force in April 2027. The minimum age will be 16 — not 18 or 25. Until then, retailers' under-16 restrictions are voluntary policies. I also found the store signage confusing, as the Think 25 notices I could see referred to alcohol and did not clearly explain its application to energy drinks. I fully respect age checks and store policies, but my son is 18. The inconsistent information and the way this situation was handled made the whole experience unnecessarily unpleasant. Very disappointing customer service.

  Security guard didn’t even say hello. Just stared at me. I said hello and just a blank expression so I repeated “yes, hello” calmly to him. Then he seemed to smile slightly. Unnecessary hostility and don’t really want to shop here.
