  A couple of weeks ago while I was at the self scanning check out one of the security guards snatched the basket out my hands without even asking! This is not acceptable behaviour for any member of staff! Please hire people who do not act like children!

  Really disappointed with the customer service at this store. I completely understand that there may be strict policies around selling scratch cards, especially when children are involved. I would have had no issue at all if this had been explained clearly and politely. (They treated it like a crime scene just because a simple question, “What’s your favourite number?” Despite my toddler has no idea what a scratch card is and wasn’t involved in the process at all. However, they had no interest in finding it out) Unfortunately, the way it was handled was very poor. The staff member, Melanie, spoke in a way that felt accusatory and unfriendly, as if I had done something wrong. There was no effort to communicate properly or explain the situation, instead, she immediately called the manager without even attempting a conversation. When the manager, Ann, arrived, the situation didn’t improve. Rather than calmly explaining the policy, she simply backed up the staff member without offering any clear reasoning. A simple and polite explanation such as “unfortunately, we can’t complete this sale” would have made a big difference. The whole interaction created a very awkward and uncomfortable environment. As someone who works as a pharmacy store manager myself, I understand the importance of following policies, but also the importance of communication and treating customers with respect. There is definitely room for improvement in both communication and management skills here.
