My rating is based on my expectations. It's a cafe in a supermarket so I didn't expect restaurant quality. They have menus on huge self service screens, which I'm not a fan of, and when I struggled with something, a member of staff walking by, offered help. I later realised that she was actually on her way in to work, yet still helped. That's the real service I seek.
I ordered a cappuccino which was a cappuccino, excellently presented and executed, a great start. To eat, I'd selected a basic jacket potato with cheese n beans. Wholesome and perfect against the continuous rain outside.
It arrived and I was immediately dissappinted due to its appearance. Please see photo, (I've labelled it in case you cant recognise it). It looked liked it was prepared by a 5 Yr old.. on a bad day. It had been heated in a microwave, as was served to me with instructions to take care as the dish was incredibly 🔥 hot. Yes the cheese had melted, the beans were hot, and everything had been nuked to a mess you see in the photo. I did expect the use of a microwave.. to heat the beans perhaps. The jacket should be oven baked, beans heated, which is the the heat source to melt the grated cheese spread over everything. I paid just under £10 for the coffee n potato. Won't do that again.. If I eat there again.. big IF... I will stick to an easy mass produced breakfast, and feel like I had something home made.
Sadly dissapointed, but bought nice things for tea to compensate.
