  Me and my friends came in just for a couple drinks, we saw some other customers eating their own food so my friend decided to eat a couple of his own snacks while we sat thinking it wasn’t a problem. The staff singled him out ignoring the other customers saying he can’t eat and decided to embarrass him while he was packing it away saying “why are you still eating when i asked you to pack it away” I told her he’s clearly not eating to which she continued to give me and my friends dirty looks and talk about us to her colleagues which just made us feel upset. The woman that made us feel this way was a white, frail and small elderly lady with a bob hair cut, glasses and an all black uniform. I understand there’s rules but there’s never a need to make your own customers feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. The Bar staff were friendly and welcoming 👍🏼

  Having walked to the beach and lifeboat station, and back, we were looking for a snack and a beer. We opted for the three starters for £17, and the food was fantastic! The staff were very friendly, despite being quite busy. Definitely worth a stop for hydration. :)

  Another great visit to the Fleece, always visit when in Wells, had dinner with friends, superb food and spot on service . Recommend the steak pie 👍 but all looks good

  We visited The Golden Fleece with my father‑in‑law on his first evening back living in Wells‑next‑the‑Sea, Norfolk, and it was the perfect choice. Booking a table was quick and easy, and when we arrived the fire was already lit, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were outstanding — attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Amber and Kaley took wonderful care of us, and Rhys and the kitchen team delivered food that was truly exceptional. I had the homemade steak and ale pie with mash, and it was so delicious I didn’t want it to end. The restaurant is dog‑friendly, the toilets were spotless, and the whole place felt clean, cosy, and inviting. It was a really lovely evening from start to finish, and we will absolutely be returning.

  This is a great place for fish and chips with a lovely view of the Quay. The food was really good and well priced. It was a very busy day and so the service was a bit slow, but this was to be expected.
