  I asked my son to do some shopping for me in this store on the Downshire Road today before he left Newry. At the self service checkouts two staff were standing chatting. My son was getting reduced priced wine for me so he needed this purchase approved. The two staff continued their chat instead of checking if anyone at these tills needed assistance. My son stood waiting for 4 minutes while the two staff continued chatting. One other customer came to these tills after my son and saw my son waiting. He had his items through and left. My son was still waiting, one of the staff went to assist a female customer on the cash and card till before returning to resume her chat with the other staff member. My son was still waiting. One staff member came towards my son and my son told her how long he was waiting. She started to accuse my son of being aggressive and rude this is a downright lie the truth is she decided to take issue because my son told her how long he was waiting which he has every right to do and she decided to take issue because her chat was interupted, this was her problem. She is paid to serve the public and do her job and not tell lies. Let tescos check the CCtv and this will prove the truth. My son was on his way to find a manager. The manager asked my son if he was okay ? My son explained to the manager that he was waiting to get his purchase approved but this was delayed due to two staff having their face to face chat. The manager got talking to the two staff and listened to their lies instead of remaining neutral and knowing that she was not there to witness the conversation my son had with the staff, this approach is unprofessional because this manager was working on only one side of the story when she repeated the same words to my son that the staff told her which was untrue. This manager needs to go and view the CCtv footage before repeating the staff's lying words to my son. This is wrong for this manager to be taking the word of staff before adequately investigating this issue.

  I went on a beer run for a 60th birthday party. The drink is a lot cheaper than the south if you have a northern Ireland tesco club card.
