  Adam was very attentive when we asked if we could have a slightly bigger table, he took our order and served our table. We received very good service from all staff who were very pleasant and happy in their job

  Had a lovely Sunday roast yesterday to celebrate our anniversary, we both went for the beef which was delicious and generously portioned. Kids had fish and chips which they loved and icecream for pudding which was very generous with sauce and toppings, they were very impressed. I had probably the tastiest ever sticky toffee pudding for dessert with chocolate Guinness icecream. I urge The Maltsters to never take this off the menu! Ranworth is a beautiful location, well worth the short drive FROM Norwich. We will certainly come back. Thanks to the Maltsters team as well who were very nice and accommodating letting us in half an hour earlier than our booking ( two hungry kids were not going to wait).

  Absolutely shocking. Not a single smile in the place. A beautiful day in a beautiful location and everyone was miserable! The staff and customers alike. I can understand why the customers weren’t impressed, with staffs complete opposition to being even the slightest bit helpful and total lack of respect to the people paying their wages! A real downer on what was otherwise an excellent day. Avoid!!!

  My friends and I had a truly lovely time at the Maltsters while on holiday recently. The staff were attentive and very friendly, the food was on the whole excellent, especially given that we ordered close to the end of service on a Sunday. We stuck around for a few hours after food enjoying the hospitality of Amy and her staff greatly, with lots of choice for drinks at decent prices given the stunning location and atmosphere. We will definitely return in the future!

  The food was tasty but unfortunately myself and my brother were rather disappointed with the portion sizes. We both paid £18.50 for the flat iron chicken and ended up with a pot of chips and a very small wing of chicken. When paying a premium it feels like a bit of a rip off when no veggies are even served with it - surely an easy and cheap solution to bulking a meal out. I’m not normally one to complain or leave negative reviews but I find it surprising that a chef would think the portion size was worthy of the cost. We were also not asked at any point during the meal how things were, which meant we weren’t given an easy opportunity to comment on our disappointment. We avoided ordering dessert for this reason.
