  This is a large restaurant attached to a Premier Inn. It has a large, pleasant terrace facing the canal. The guy who served me was really very pleasant, welcoming and efficient . I had the gammon grill which was fine, apart from the accompanying eggs which were very over cooked (so much so that they may well have shared their origins with Norwich Cathedral 😬). I also had a medium glass of house red wine which was palatable. I requested and was given a glass of tap water-always a positive dign of attentive service. What redeemed all this was the cost: reasonable at about £17 in total. Recommended, especially in Summer months. TOP TIP: really great deals available for lunch.

  Our first time here and it was a really great experience. Food was quick but really really nice. Sandra was lovely and friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for you.

  Rob our waiter was very efficient, friendly and attentivei. He dealt very compentently with our need for separate bills and actually remembered which food and drink each person had. The Nelson is one of our favourite places to eat and being served by Rob made it it even more enjoyable. He is an asset to the Nelson staff.

  You can always rely on a Premier Inn - where you can eat! The setting of this place is better than expected. I loved seeing the carpet, the fabric of the chairs & the wooden walls, which was just like a grandparents home. I also enjoyed that at breakfast time, you could serve food for yourself, so no unpleasant wait. The food was decent, but I lived my yoghurt the most. Next time that I am close to this hotel, I could do nothing but eat there.
