  Food was good lack of staff overall they were polite and curtious and coped got a table straight away for 3 food a little cold but yummy

  Been here a few years back and decided to try again today - what a difference! The building is looking very scruffy on the outside - peeling paintwork and looking very run down. Inside wasn’t much better, very dingy, needs a complete redecoration, curtains just about hanging from the curtain rails, linings torn , tables wiped so much that most of the varnish had been taken off, and were sticky, crumbs on the chairs, and a dirty knife in the pot . Ceilings and walls definitely needed a fresh coat of paint or a good wipe down with sugar soap! Heard a couple had complained because their roast dinner was cold, my fishcake was nice, but chips luke warm and a lot had black marks from diseased potatoes. Staff were polite and apologised for the chips, but must be depressing for them working in such a dingy environment. Will not be going back

  After a great night's sleep at the Premier Inn next door my family and I (inc. two kids under 10) had breakfast (cooked and continental) at the Showground Table Table. The food itself was great - good range of cereals, jams, juices etc. and where cooked, there were plenty of options and it was cooked well to order. The two team members assisting guests (Joe and Oscar) were also really helpful and lovely to chat to! I only give the atmosphere one less star as it was early morning and as you can imagine, the guests were all still half asleep and caffeine deficient! :D

  We recently visited this restaurant with my sisters for a Sunday roast, and it turned out to be a great decision. We had originally gone to a different place, but after looking over the menu, we all felt it wasn’t quite what we were in the mood for, so we decided to leave and try somewhere else. I’m really glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed—perfect for a Sunday meal. There was also ample space to park in their large car park, which made the visit even more convenient. Our server, Oscar, was very polite and professional, which made the experience even more enjoyable from the start. We all agreed that the roast was delicious. My turkey was beautifully cooked and tender, and the portion sizes was generous without being overwhelming. The roast potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just how they should be, and the vegetables were fresh and well-prepared. The gravy tied everything together nicely, rich and savoury without being too heavy. It’s clear that care goes into the food here, and it made the whole experience feel special rather than just another meal out. The price was also very reasonable at just £11.99, which made the experience even better value for money. Overall, we had a lovely time catching up over great food, made even better by Oscar’s attentive and professional service. I would definitely return for another Sunday roast in the future—a really enjoyable experience from start to finish.
