About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Completely gobsmacked saturday just gone as customers blatantly witnessed a staff member putting hair in a breakfast sausage bap, it turns out it was the man's ex partner and they still were having issues

Rain’s coming sideways, the bus might be late, But Mahdi’s behind the counter sorting my fate. Warm sausage bake ready, coffee poured strong, With Mahdi at Greggs, you can’t really go wrong. When payday looks grim and the weather is bleak, Seeing Mahdi at Greggs is the highlight of the week. He serves up bacon rolls, pasties by the stack, And somehow convinces me to keep coming back. Forget fancy restaurants charging fortunes for eggs, Real British fine dining starts daily at Greggs. Mahdi deserves medals, promotions… maybe a plaque, Half the reason I visit is having a laugh and a chat. Five stars from me, and I say this with legs, If Britain has heroes, one of them works at Greggs. God save the King, keep the sausage rolls hot, And give Mahdi a pay rise — he’s earned the lot.

Extremely busy, but served quickly. Friendly cashier. Not much space to sit indoors though.

Went into greggs at gapton today around 3 o'clock for a latte and a hot chocolate, there was a lot of empty tables we managed to find a nearly clean one but the overall look of the place was awful it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a week. There was so much mess on the floor and the tables were filthy, the rubbish bin was overflowing and there were no serviettes ( I was going to wipe our table) I dread to think what the kitchen area out the back was like. I thought maybe they were short staffed but there was 3 members of staff behind the counter.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
