I was served at 6.45pm today (Good Friday) by a guy who spent the whole time with his back to his checkout customers chatting to the lady at the adjacent till. He scanned my shopping without looking, didn’t stop talking and I stood there holding my club card waiting for him to bother turning around to see it! He treated the gentleman in front of me exactly the same. Some people use these manned tills over self service to just have a smile and a chat. Elderly people in particular need this sort of interaction. If the manager can have a kind word with these two he/she would be doing us customers a favour.
