Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

any time i get a cherry lemonade it’s never made right at all, today my partner got one and it was just water with a bit of cherry but had 0 taste, there was no lemonade added at all. the food and sitting area is great but i think staff need a retraining on the ice drinks as i’ve never had any good ones

For a quick hot drink, cheap, consistent Greggs is unbeatable, if you avoid the franchises ... they seem to charge whatever they want and some like Wetherby services do not participate in the rewards.
For this lovely location why not offer a 'special treats' menu cooked with love and fresh local ingredients. I would pay 3 x the price for an organic wild boar sausage roll cooked with butter crust pastry .... just a thought.
This looks and feels like a flagship store, why not offer a little bit more, it is not always about price.
Service was very good. But who ordered the pew stools ? they are too high or the pew is too low (I think the latter as it is nice to people watch). Why not throw a few cushions in the window area for the kids?

The newest and maybe biggest Greggs in town so far!? I noticed it getting fitted out last week. Standard stuff as you'd expect but with the addition of comfy seating plus window pews. I imagine when the Pilgrim Quarter opens up this place will be rammed 24/7.
Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.
What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
