  We visited the Wellwood twice on our visit to Amble . First time was Tuesday night for the quiz( recommend booking a table as it was busy ) which was great fun . Although the sound system could do with updating as couldn’t hear some of the questions . Pepper our greyhound was getting lots of attention which she loved . Second visit was for food , food was lovely . Son had a selection of bar snacks , I had the Cumberland sausage ,and hubby had one of the veggie options . Although there was hardly anyone eating felt that the wait for food was longer than it should have been. But saying that would be happy to go back .

  Exceptionally good Sunday lunch. So good, we went back for an evening meal two days later. We'll worth a visit.

  Great place to stop over night for our journey north. Staff great, room clean and tidy. Good food and beer!

  Family weekend in Amble a couple of weeks ago. Popped in for lunch on Friday, which was excellent. Proper lunch portions, so no waste, which we really liked. Loved the food, service and friendly staff so much, we ate there the following evening. Food is fabulous and reasonably priced for the quality and cooked to order. Has real ale which suited my husband. Child friendly and staff are so helpful and friendly offering local information without prompting. As a family, we highly recommend!
