  Check the meal times before you go. Website and menu says kitchen is open until 15:00. We went yesterday at 14:00 and was told the kitchen was closed until 17:00. Had a good couple of pints but no food so took a walk down to the butchers after and got a steak pie each which was lovely.

  Absolutely outstanding 🤩 one of the bar staff even gave us lift back to our accommodation when we’re unable to find a taxi … so friendly and welcoming, couldn’t ask for more .. would give 10 stars if I could !

  We had booked a room for one night on our journey from Scotland to the Newcastle ferry. For this purpose, it was ok and we were quite happy with our room. The breakfast however was a big disappointment: We had ordered a cooked breakfast for 8:30 and had to wait for it at the table untill well after 9 o'clock. We found out, that the milk had already gone sour. After mentioning it, the waitress replaced the milk - same problem. I tried the traditional breakfast (nothing special, only salt was missing), my wife tried the poached eggs with avocado (not very tasty) and our children had the pancakes (ok). For the drinks, we had the choice betweeen tea in bags and instant coffee (plus sour milk as I said before). We heard no word of appology for the delay or the sour milk.
