My wife and I entered The Queen's Head Hotel on Tuesday 4th August in the evening with our dogs hoping for dinner and drink, but as we entered and walked towards the bar we could see a woman sat at a table openly vaping. If this is a Vape house advertise it and potential customers know where they stand, I will never visit again and if you value your health and wellbeing I suggest you do not visit this establishment - Remember how it was safe to smoke in the day.

Dropped by for a beer on a Sunday afternoon after my wife and I finished a walk with our dog around Rothbury. Lovely "proper" ale on tap and bonus of some great live music. With sun shining it was a perfect few hours!

Hotel public rooms are a little careworn, our bedroom was recently renovated and was comfortable and clean. Staff are obliging. However the hotel in general is in need of some investment.

Love all the pubs in Rothbury but this has got to be the worst....
We called in tonight after walking the dogs to be served by the most 'attitude ridden miserable and incomprehensible and incompetent bar maid'. (Dark haired girl around 20s) My husband ordered first... she never listened and got the simple gin n tonic totally wrong... after numerous attempts we got our drinks, paid and went into the 'empty' beer garden... which was littered with every table full of empty glasses... which in the hour and a half we were there were never cleared!!
I then went to the bar and ordered a 'single' gin and a pint of Guinness to be charged over £14...😲
When i got back to my husband I explained the cost... we then worked out she'd charged me for a double and also a bottle of tonic....I mentioned this to her as we were leaving, she opened the till and clashed £2.60 in my hand... no words were ever spoken by her....I then said she had the worst attitude ever to be working in hospitality... she just stared at me and shrugged her shoulders...a couple of other customers agreed with me at the time.
Why would you employ someone who is at the front of your business, who clearly didn't want to be there or be polite to the customers.
We may return in the future as we have a caravan in the village, but I'd be checking who is serving first before experiencing another vile encounter like this.
We used to be Hoteliers so tend not to do reviews on places.... but this was appalling service and feel you needed to know.
Date of our visit was Monday 20th July

I’m sorry I’ve had to write this
Myself daughter and bf. Came to Rothbury on Saturday
We ordered something on menu through beer garden which have to say was forced as it was after 5 pm the classic menu was gone and a very dissapointing menu was handed to us
Because we were hungry we made a poor choice of the burger not only was it far to big
But we were brought out with no serviettes or cutlery no condiments
Was aweful greasy food not what we Woukd have loved and for £14 was not value for money
After this I have to say I won’t be returning
Found the place dirty at back of pub entrance to beer garden too
