Great rooms if you don't like plastic hotels. We ate on a Thursday but had the smokehouse menu whi h was stunning. Not for the disabled due to stairs. The car park entrance is via a narrow arch so if you have an suv you need to consider this. My Renault Scenic etech was ok with the mirrors folded in. The trees in the car park left sap all over the car

Called in for sunday lunch. Got shown to table. Took orders quickly. So service was good. Lunch came 2 roast beef sunday lunchs. Both had hardly any gravy on the plate. I mean about 3 desert spoonfuls on each. I asked for extra gravy. Which came. Roast potatoes were very hard and chewy turnip was salty, meat tasted boiled instead of roasted. I ate half of mine. Husband ate small part of his, When we complained chef came out and said “ We always cook the meat like that” and “ you could of asked for more gravy” and then went away. We were then charged full price. We ll never go again. So altogether a bad experience.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Alnwick (it is even opposite the bus stops to/from Almouth). Not noisy overnight even though it was next to the main road. An error meant we had a double bed instead of the twin room I'd requested, however the issue was swiftly resolved.

I'm travelling with my American wife and in-laws. We visited The Plough for one of their Smoke House nights. My in laws are big smoke house fans so I was a little nervous. They were blown away. My wife commented, she'd just eaten her first jalapeno popper. I can't believe The Plough isn't a full-time Smoke House! The quality of the ingredients, preparation and presentation were all off the charts. Best meal of our holiday by far 😋😋 Draft Guinness was also amazing!! The servers were super friendly. They are super dog friendly and they put Teddy out dog on the wall 😁😁 My only complaint is the Mojito was disgusting. We all tried some and agreed cough medicine tastes better. Come guys, Mojito do not have green goo in them. Apart from that 5 stars all the way!!!!
