About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Did not open at 8am, ended up wasting my god damn time. Stop misinforming people of you don’t open directly at 8am on a Sunday

Customers just casually stealing sandwiches, told staff members to which they respond "happens all the time and there's nothing we can do"! So people that actually have decency to pay are worse off

Go here maybe a couple of times as week due to working & well, it’s Greggs, can’t go wrong. There bacon is abit questionable in the mornings and a lot of time food cold but is what it is. Whilst being served they talk amongst themselfs, your pretty much ignored after order has been placed & the staff need to cheer up abit. 1 or people go to the effort to crack a smile but others act as if they are held there against their will. Cheer up people, it’s Christmas!!! 😁 Overall not a bad place, food is decent! Just staff lack customer service skills.

Lovely place to pop in for coffee and bite to eat. One thing I do notice though is how I seem to see people come into Greggs, help themselves to products and walk out without paying. Happens fairly often.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
