  A handy location for the M62 to either Manchester or Leeds. The staff are extremely helpful at both the hotel reception and in the pub where breakfast is served. The breakfast is freshly cooked and well presented. If a cooked breakfast is not for you then continental breakfast is also available. Clean rooms and generally quiet you can get a good nights rest.

  Sadly since they changed from buffet breakfast to table order it has become very poor. The wait time is very long which deters you from ordering a second plate and the food it of poor quality with a stingy portion control. Example - I asked for mushrooms and received one mushroom cut in half. Pathetic.

  The restaurant was quite quiet when we arrived, choose where we wanted to sit. Took quite a while for our food to arrive. Missing different condiments, which took a while to arrive. My chicken breast was ‘chewy’ and by this point, I was feeling that the staff wasn’t interested, distracted with business changes. After speaking with Sophie, the Duty Manager, she offered a heartfelt apology and being short staffed had an impact on service. Times are a little tough at the moment, and the honest chat was very much appreciated. We need to stand by our local restaurant, the staff are really trying their best in these hardest of times. Thank you Sophie and your team, we will be back.
