Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Rude staff, scratch their backsides before making breakfast sandwiches (with no gloves!!). When confronted, begin insulting you. Also never has any pasties stocked ready to go.

Never knew someone could mess up a pastie as they did, cheese and onion pastie was bigger than a football with hardly any filling. Same with the sausage roll. Charged me for a Redbull which I didn’t even get! When speaking to the staff they seemed very unbothered and not one apology for the mess up. This is the first ever review I’ve made in my life, honestly shocking! There’s other Greggs near by as alternatives, never ordering from here ever again!

Got FOOD POISONING from undercooked fried chicken in 18.03.26 . There was strange tasted liquid inside of strips , but unfortunately it was more noticeable in last peace that I ate.As a result , 3rd day in pains, sickness, vomiting, sleepless nights in hospitals plus mental damage because of stress. NEVER buy southern fried chicken from Greggs.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
