About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Staff are always very friendly and quick at servicing. I have never had an issue with the order unlike some of the others I have been to.

Good varjety on menu andcreasonsble prices. sometimes the steak bakes are warm no option to have it reheated in a microwave which is a shame. I pop in twice a week midweek (one takeaway and other time to sit), it so u get to know the morning staff. Haniyya is lovely and sara both very hard working and very helpful. The young team members are hit and miss Some are rude and lazy. Stock at weekend if i pop on store on a sunday morning around 9am depends on who is working and what is ready as sometimes they see something is running low but dont think to put more in the oven jntil it completely runs out. Lunchtime can get really busy as asda and the building behind greggs staff are on lunch break.. no customer toilet access considering u have eat in tables.

One very rude and unhelpful lady working there this morning, expected me to do her job for her. In future I will travel a little further to a different Greggs.

The person who served me had a stinking attitude towards me when I asked for my food she said she couldn’t hear me and that I had to speak up (not in a friendly manner) I then asked for a bag and she put it on the counter and made me bag it myself, whilst bagging she left the till and forgot the sausage roll I ordered I feel that this behaviour was very appalling and she needs to be retrained on manners and politeness

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
