The sheer variety is remarkable, seamlessly combining fresh groceries, hot bakery goods, F&F clothing, homeware, and tech under one huge roof. With wide aisles, great Clubcard savings, and perks like pharmacies and in-store cafes, running errands becomes effortless. Though navigating the massive floor during peak weekend hours requires patience, speedy self-checkouts keep things moving smoothly overall.

  half the self-checkouts are closed off, long line to the rest. Apparently they closed them off on management orders?!

  Disgraceful experience at Tesco Oldfields on the A217. My friend and I were publicly stopped by security after we were told that the self-service colleague, Diane, had reported that we had left the store without paying. We had paid in full, and another member of staff reprinted our receipt within minutes, proving we had done absolutely nothing wrong. Diane’s attitude throughout was completely unacceptable. When we approached her to explain that security had stopped us and to ask for our receipt, she was immediately rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Rather than checking the transaction or trying to resolve the situation, she walked away and left another colleague to do what she should have done in the first place. When we later asked for her name, she turned her name badge around and refused to identify herself. Despite our payment being confirmed, not a single apology was offered by Diane, the duty manager or any member of staff. Being wrongly stopped and treated like a criminal in front of other customers was humiliating. The complete lack of professionalism, accountability and basic customer service was shocking. Tesco needs to investigate this incident properly and ensure no other innocent customer is treated this way. I have submitted a formal complaint and hope Tesco investigates this incident thoroughly.
