About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Alright this greggs has no sitting arrangements and also only takeaway orders are done They accept the NFC payments (debit & credit) but they need to make it even more spacious and should at least add a couple of new products and the prices should be manageable. At the moment the prices are sky rocket at the Gregg's.

I have bought from this branch countless times and never had a problem until now. Today, I ordered a large caramel latte, but the staff member insisted that I hadn't specified the size, which is why she prepared a regular one. I could have tolerated that part. However, what she did next was transfer the contents from the regular cup into a large cup—even trying to show me that there was 'almost no difference'—without adding a single extra drop, and then still charged me for a large. I gladly would have just paid for the regular cup instead. I didn't have time to argue, and as a regular customer at this branch, I am really, really disappointed.

Experience depends very much on who is serving. Some of the staff are lovely but some, e.g. today are arogant, impatient and rude. They need to remember they are serving hospital patients, visitors and staff and some kindness would be greatly appreciated. Food is ok but could be warmer (sausage rolls are always cold). Breakfast is the best, particularly the omelette baps and porridge, particularly at 6am after an all night stay in A&E.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
