Very disappointed with my recent experience at Domino’s Southall.
While waiting to collect my order, I spent several minutes watching the pizza preparation area. I repeatedly saw staff handling meat and touching items such as bins without washing or changing their hands before preparing other pizzas, including vegetarian ones. As a vegetarian, this is a serious concern because preventing cross-contamination is extremely important.
I politely spoke to the staff member preparing the pizzas. She was polite and respectful, so this review is not about her personally. However, she told me it was “not possible to wash hands because we have 500 pizzas to make.” She also said they would only wash their hands if a customer requested it in advance. When I questioned this further, she told me that management had said it was fine not to wash their hands between orders.
What made this even more concerning was that after I raised the issue, there were no orders waiting on the screen, yet no handwashing took place.
To make matters worse, I ordered a Classic Crust pizza but received an Italian Style base instead. This made me question the quality control at this store. I’ve ordered from this branch before, and it was never like this.
After my visit, I read several other reviews for this branch, and many customers have raised concerns about service and standards. Based on what I personally experienced, those reviews appear consistent with what I witnessed and suggest there may be ongoing management and operational issues that need attention.
Being busy is not an excuse to ignore basic food hygiene standards. Whether there are 500 pizzas or 5,000 pizzas to make, proper hand hygiene and measures to prevent cross-contamination should always be followed, especially when preparing vegetarian and vegan pizzas.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, investigates the hygiene practices at this branch, improves quality control, and ensures staff follow proper food safety standards. I would like to continue ordering from Domino’s, but only if I can trust that hygiene and quality are being taken seriously.
