  I came in a few days ago as my old acer laptop wouldn’t come on due to a crack along the charging port and the old charger being frayed. Both gentlemen were professional and assured me they would confirm what they could do within 30 minutes. Kamran, also helped me call around for t-shirt printers and put on the AC when he saw me fanning myself. He also showed me a good deal on business HP laptops. So, guess where my new laptop will be coming from? I’m grateful to both gentlemen for their help that day.

  I can confirm this review. I’ve had a similar experience myself and unfortunately I have to agree with everything mentioned here. It’s very frustrating when you park your car as a customer, something happens, and there is seemingly no useful CCTV or support available. What makes it even more frustrating is that when you raise the issue with the manager, they simply point to the notice on the wall, as if that somehow excuses them from taking any responsibility or offering help. It feels like the notice is being used as a way to protect themselves rather than actually helping customers. Tesco really needs to look into this and improve the situation for customers.

  After reading the reviews here, I would definitely think twice before leaving my car in this car park. It is very concerning to hear that the CCTV does not properly cover the parking area or the vehicles. There is a camera, but apparently it is positioned towards the outside and does not actually monitor the cars where customers park. That is extremely worrying. What is the point of having CCTV if it does not cover the area where people leave their cars? If someone hits your vehicle and drives away, it seems you may have very little chance of getting useful footage or identifying the person responsible. Customers should be aware of this before parking here. This is a serious security issue and Tesco really needs to sort it out.

  ⚠️ BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN PARKING YOUR CAR HERE! I came to this Tesco in Purley today to do my shopping. When I returned to my car, I discovered that someone had hit my car and simply driven away. The incident happened right outside Tesco. I went inside and asked the staff to call the manager. The manager came out, looked at the damage, and told me that there was nothing they could do to help me and that I would have to deal with it myself. What is even more concerning is the CCTV situation. There is only one camera, and according to the manager, it does not cover the parking area or the cars. The camera is only pointing towards the outside area and does not capture where customers park their vehicles. So if someone damages your car and drives away, there is apparently no useful CCTV footage to identify them. For a major supermarket like Tesco, this is extremely disappointing. Customers should be able to expect proper security and CCTV coverage in a car park, especially when incidents like this happen. Please be very careful and think twice before leaving your car here. If someone hits your vehicle and drives away, don't expect Tesco to be able to provide CCTV footage or help identify the person responsible. Very disappointing experience. Tesco really needs to address the lack of proper CCTV coverage in the car park.

  Went into Tesco Purley today at 9:40am. The store doors were open and there were already lots of customers shopping. I was on my way to work and needed to buy lunch and a drink, as there are no food options near my workplace. I was told I could not pay until 10:00am because the store was supposedly “not open yet”.This was confusing as the doors were open and customers were already allowed to shop. I was told that we’re allowed to browse but not allowed to pay until 10am. Several customers were just standing around waiting to purchase their shop. Stupidly, the self-checkouts were also unavailable. If the store is closed until 10:00am, customers should not be allowed inside just to wait around. Alternatively, if customers are allowed inside, there should be a way to pay if staff are not available till 10am. I did not have time to wait another 20 minutes just so I could serve myself anyway. I had to leave without buying anything and now have to work a full day without food or a drink as I had a bus to catch. This situation is very frustrating as there’s clearly an option for customers to serve themselves should staff not be available. The store needs to ensure customers can actually pay if we are allowed inside and not have to wait to use a self check out because they’re “not open yet” - being allowed in to shop but not pay as you’re not open is a huge contradiction.
