We came for Father’s Day recently and were very pleased with it all. The service and the lady who served us were very warm, welcoming and accommodating. The food was also very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. One slight downside was that the restaurant was very hot and could maybe do with some air conditioning however the rest of the pub was nice and cool and I appreciate the weather is more extreme currently than normal

We came as a family of 7 on Sunday for lunch and the food and service were great, the bar staff too. We all had different meals (roast chicken, roast beef, prawns, fish and chips and I can't remember what else!) and we all said we would recommend what we had, as well as the desserts! I also liked the roast potatoes and I usually swap roast potatoes for mash in restaurants as I'm so fussy with them and when they're bad it's disappointing but they were really nice! And the Yorkshire pudding was the best one I've had in a restaurant!
The restaurant and bar staff were also great with my inquisitive 4 year old niece!

Such a shame as we used to love The Chelsfield! i wouldnt normally post a review but we went in November last year and the food was probably the worst meal we have had out before. We should have said something at the time but its just awks isn't it.
We decided to give The Chelsfield a second chance as its our local by popping in for drinks last week and the service was terrible, a poor young girl behind the bar who didn't know how anything worked as she was on work experience, then she asked a colleague who also said they didnt know how to pick a wine out and put it through on the till. We waited about 5 / 10 minutes to see if anyone else would serve us but no one did. We looked for another member of staff a young man who was kind and arranged our drinks for us although i am not totally sure he knew what he was doing either. We asked for the manager not to be difficult but more to say that the team obviously need more support being front of house, when we finally tracked her down we said it would be really good if your team were a bit more supported out front as it seems no one is quite sure what they are doing as we had to direct them on what to do when serving drinks and her answer to that was 'cool'. So rude and unhelpful, i think thats it for us now at The Chelsfield, a real shame as it used to be fab! Time to find a new local.

Since the new landlord has taken over, the improvements at the pub have been very noticeable. The new outdoor seating is a great addition.
The food quality has improved significantly and is now excellent. There is a great choice of dishes on the menu, all of which are very tasty and well presented. The service has also been friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
Congratulations to the new team on the positive changes. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

We had the Sunday roast beef and a beef burger, as well as a few drinks.
Great portion sizes, piping hot & nice looking on the plate.
Roast beef was lovely, especially the carrots & parsnips and the onion chutney in the burger was highly rated!
