Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
I visited Greggs on Saturday 25th July 2026. During my visit, I was served by a young lady with brown hair. I requested three ring doughnuts from the display counter. However, the staff member repeatedly attempted to upsell me a box of four. I explicitly stated that I only wanted the three individual doughnuts I had selected, but she continued to pressure me. She went to the front of the store to retrieve boxed products, arguing that they were fresher and offered better value.Despite making it clear that I felt unheard and pressured, she refused to complete my transaction for the three items. Instead, she chose to delay my payment by removing four doughnuts from their retail boxes to restock the front counter right in front of me. Due to this uncomfortable and obstructive behavior, I ultimately informed her that I would leave without the purchase, to which she dismissively replied, "Fine."As a customer, I expect to have my choices respected without facing aggressive sales tactics or dismissive attitudes. This employee’s conduct was entirely unprofessional and unhelpful training is recommended regarding listening and customer service.

I had a wonderful experience! Thank you to Parpati (I hope I have your name right 😊). She always greets me with a warm smile, and she remembers my usual order before I even have to say it. That personal touch makes every visit feel so welcoming. Thank you for your kindness and excellent service!

A small greggs outlet. All the menus on clear signage : display cabinets seem well stocked and neat. Service efficient and pleasant. Food was hot and coffees good.. the furniture where it meets floor needs a clean up . ( edges ) 5 small tables but does have bench type padded seating along one wall. Would use again ..
Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.
What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
