Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I do not recommend the Greek location in Mordor. Every time I visit, the staff are lazy and unfriendly. They often refuse to make a specific sandwich, claiming they do not have enough time, while at the same time sitting on their phones and dealing with personal matters instead of working.
I cannot recommend this place and would advise people to avoid this store until the staff are replaced or the service improves. I am very disappointed with the overall customer service. Unfortunately, this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time.

I would like to recognise an outstanding member of staff who was working alone at Greggs on Friday morning during the busy peak commuter rush.
Unfortunately, I did not catch her name, but she was an older lady who demonstrated exceptional customer service under what looked like very challenging circumstances. Despite being the only person serving, she greeted every single customer with a smile, maintained a positive attitude throughout, and kept the queue moving efficiently.
What impressed me most was her energy and professionalism. Even while effectively doing the work of multiple people, she remained friendly, welcoming, and genuinely engaged with customers. In a time when great customer service can make a huge difference to someone’s day, she was a perfect example of how it should be done.
Employees like her are a real credit to Greggs. Her dedication, work ethic, and positive attitude did not go unnoticed, and I strongly believe she deserves recognition from management for the outstanding job she was doing. Staff who consistently go above and beyond, especially during busy periods while working alone, should be acknowledged and rewarded.
Please pass on my thanks and appreciation to her. She made a busy Friday morning a much more pleasant experience for everyone she served.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
