Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I decided to pop in today simply because I haven't tired out Greggs before, and I must say I was pleased.
A guy named David was at the counter, and he was very helpful with my order. I asked what they had on offer and how their "click and collect" system works with the app, and he explained it very well.
I do like the option to get a Sausage Roll as a snack for the meal deal, especially seeing that it also acta as a neat snack to hand to a friend that I was with. The price - £5.25 - is decent for the quality of the food (although it would have been cooler if it was a flat £5, that way I could've paid with a fiver without having to deal with change), and the options for a heated Main is much appreciated.
I do see a fair few reviews here that are not as pleasant, but honestly that just comes down to circumstance. At least for me, the experience was as good as I would expect, and I certainly will be remembering this shop for whenever I am out in Mitcham.

I had a really disappointing experience here. The manager was quite rude and didn’t seem willing to listen to a simple customer request. I only asked for a coffee with cold milk instead of hot, and she refused, saying the till wouldn’t allow it.
It’s frustrating because going the extra mile for customers shouldn’t be that difficult. Small requests like this make a big difference in how customers feel. Every customer matters—they’re the reason a business succeeds. I hope this is taken as feedback to improve customer service in the future.

Loved the sandwich I ate. But the donuts are not part of the meal deal, only the crisps and fruits and chips are part. The donuts and other snacks should be part to the meal deal.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
