Mushy peas so sweet t'were as like they'd been supped fresh from the garden. The service was impeccable, speedy and joyful. This was seated indoors. We have done takeaway too - which is somehow even better! Toffs are simply the gods of fish and chips.

But this is definitely a place where you should try it, and somewhere you should bring friends who are visiting London. The batter on the fish is incredibly thin and crispy, and the flavour, atmosphere and overall experience are all really lovely. I especially loved the chips — they reminded me of the homemade chips we used to eat as children. Everything was genuinely delicious. My only disappointment was the portion size. The portions are quite small, especially considering the price. There is also a noticeable difference between the takeaway and eat-in prices, which is a little disappointing. It honestly makes you think, “Maybe I should have just ordered takeaway and eaten it outside!
