  I love this neighbourhood pub and visit often. They have a wonderful wine list and the food is excellent. There is a wonderful steak and frites deal once a week but the whole menu is fantastic. Thank you for Dean and the full team for being super attentive.

  Never received my food, on the day that they’d launched their new autumn menu the chef had left by 8.15. Was informed I couldn’t have my meal at 8.55. The chef de parties had also left at that point. I wasn’t going to leave a review. Until I saw one of the party I was with left a review that was replied to with a chat gpt message with such little effort they haven’t even added their own name into the (your name) section at the bottom of the pre made message. In the message it says this shouldn’t have happened and they will be speaking with the people involved. The owner was in at the time. Little to no effort from him to speak with any of us. Left it to the unfortunate supervisor on shift.

  A very disappointing experience never received our food despite ordering and paying. We ordered and paid for our food at 8pm, well before the kitchen's advertised closing time of 8:30pm. The bar staff even came round at 8:20pm informing everyone it was now last orders on food. Despite this, one person at our table never received their meal. When we asked what was happening, we were simply told that the chef had decided to go home. The bar staff here were very apologetic and seemed to not understand why the chefs had decided to leave early. Unfortunately for them it seemed they were left in an impossible situation. We were left with no meal, no proper explanation and one person going home hungry. I can't understand how you can take our order and payment and then just decide to not prepare our food. We were told yesterday was the beginning of a new menu for the pub - which makes it even more baffling that the chef's decided to leave early leaving us hungry. Absolutely gutted. What should have been a lovely evening was completely ruined by an astonishing lack of professionalism and customer care. Really disappointing, and not the sort of experience you'd expect from a pub like The Marquess Tavern. We're local and gutted to have had this experience here so unfortunately won't be giving it our custom again.

  The service was absolutely shocking. We had to get up to ask for something everytime. Food took ages and staff looked like they had no idea what was as going on. Roast was so dry, gravy was watery (after we had to ask for it). I would not recommend
