  Not a big fan of this store, yet sometimes I do go in just for a change, and am always put off by how expensive some everyday items are compared to other shops. Also it has happened a number of times now that the label on the shelf shows a lower price than what is deducted at the checkout. If you dare to bother staff about this, you are treated as a nuisance. All in all, worth avoiding if you can.

  Absolutely terrible customer service at Tesco Extra Streatham today (Sunday 31st May 2026 between approximately 2:50pm and 3:05pm). While I was using the self-checkout area, one of my items accidentally slipped in the packing area and caused a yogurt to burst and spill all over my groceries. I immediately asked a member of staff for help. He looked directly at me, clearly saw what had happened, and simply walked away. I waited around 5 minutes expecting him to come back, but he never did. In the end, I had to pack all of my shopping myself while it was covered in yogurt and take it home like that. No help, no apology, no attempt to replace the damaged item or assist in any way. What made the experience even worse was when I explained the situation to another staff member near the exit. Her response was: "He's always like that." I was honestly shocked. Instead of helping or addressing the issue, she simply dismissed it as normal behaviour. The atmosphere in the store was extremely negative. Staff looked unhappy, unapproachable, and completely uninterested in helping customers. This was genuinely one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had in a supermarket. What is particularly disappointing is that, after reading other reviews, it seems I am far from the only customer who has had a negative experience here. It's frustrating to see the same concerns raised repeatedly. How many more customers have to go through situations like this before something is finally done about it? If Tesco management reads this, please investigate what happened in the self-checkout area during that time. Customers should not be ignored when they need assistance, and poor customer service should not be accepted as normal. Very disappointed. (update after a week: so many other reviews have came up after my terrible experience, yet still TESCO only replies to the good ones... look at this one from 2 days and mine one was from a week ago!, stop silencing people!)

  The customer service has been fantastic and the fact that it’s next to Tony Lloyd’s Fighting Fit in Streatham Leisure Centre, it’s convenient to do shopping.
