Useless . It’s 7.15am I’m standing outside being told it’s a 5 minute wait because some inept muppet wants to dance around doing nothing

I had arrived here at 22:52, well in time prior to closing simply to grab one cold coffee and one box of paracetamol after a long night. Upon arrival, I found the doors already shut and the shutter down 3/4s of the way. As they let someone out, I had asked the colleague there if I could simply get the 2 items. He said no they are closed. I asked again please I just need the 2 things, and I even said if he can grab them for me I’m more than happy to just go straight to the till to pay as I don’t need to look around. He said he’ll ask his manager and then said the manager said no. I said given the location I won’t make it anywhere else close by and requested to please help as I really needed mainly the medicine. Despite there being over 5 minutes to go the manager and colleague said no we are closed, proceeded to pull the shutters down and lock the door. You’ll see on the screenshots when the photos were taken (time stamps of each above). Over 5 minutes to go, one simple request and the colleagues refused? I do not understand how this is fair when the advertised time is clearly stated. The door was locked by when I came at 10:52 as well. For an express store, closing so early is appalling. And further not catering to requests is really disgusting and closing that early, refusing service like this. Having waited till 11, they were clearly ready to leave at 11 on the dot. They all came out exactly then to close up shop and go home. I appreciate people wanting to leave on time, but to refuse service just to leave at exactly one the dot is dreadful. Absolutely horrific service and the staff did not care to even try and accommodate this, despite there being sufficient time to fulfill my request of the 2 items, all that just to go exactly then.

Cleanest, neatest Tesco Express I've been to. Quite small but had everything I needed.
