  I am extremely disappointed with the security staff at this store. On one occasion, my friend and I were shopping here. I brought and ate a box of nuts into the store from outside, and I am 100% certain the security guard saw me carrying it in. However, when we were leaving, he questioned whether I had stolen it from the store. I was extremely upset by this accusation and asked him to check the CCTV footage. After that, he simply stopped responding. Is there a store policy that customers are not allowed to bring outside products into the store? If so, it should be clearly communicated at the entrance. Otherwise, customers should not be treated like shoplifters without any evidence. Unfortunately, a very similar incident happened again yesterday. I entered the store carrying an opaque shopping bag, and from the moment I walked in, the security guard watched me constantly, making me feel extremely uncomfortable. Even while I was paying at the checkout, he kept staring at me. When I left, the security alarm did not go off, yet he still insisted on checking my bag. I fully understand the importance of preventing theft, but security staff should treat customers with respect and only intervene when there is a reasonable basis for suspicion. Being repeatedly singled out and treated as though I were a thief despite doing nothing wrong is unacceptable. I sincerely hope the store will provide better training for its security staff on how to interact with customers professionally and respectfully.

  I am a regular customer at this Tesco because it is the closest shop to my home. I usually visit weekly just to buy water, as it is heavy to carry from other stores. Unfortunately, my experience with the security staff has become unacceptable. The security guard repeatedly follows me very closely around the store, creating an intimidating and humiliating experience. On a previous visit, I was even refused entry and later told I was “confused with a shoplifter.” Although an apology was given, the same behaviour has continued. Today again I was followed throughout my shopping despite doing nothing wrong. This feels like unfair targeting and harassment rather than normal security work. Security staff are there to ensure safety, not to make customers feel suspected or unwelcome. When I raised my concern with the manager, I was told this was simply “his job.” I strongly disagree — customer dignity and respectful treatment should also be part of the job. I will be escalating this matter further because no customer should feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, or singled out while shopping in their local Tesco
