Cultural advice welcoming therapy -
I came here today 9/1/2026, to do my shopping, because I was temporarily here with my mum and older sister. So, bought sausages, blackberries, cherries, water, butter, bread, roll and Victorian cake pots (Gu brand). I was greeted nicely by Lydia and here excellent and brilliant colleague, Ali, they were both well and professional in their job roles and deserve a praise!
Breaking down, and specifically, Lydia made me feel welcome in her home village, of Ghana , despite myself coming from a Nigerian background, we as majority of black Africans are very friendly and open-minded with our people that we always connect. Likewise, the same with me , I felt a sense of belonging and strong bonding, that it was like cultural therapy to me, in a way. Even when I dropped my food items on the floor , and already paying for them, she reminded me and told me “Don’t put your food items on the floor, bacteria can come…”, illustrated that I should be clean in cleanliness and hygiene 😊
As for Ali, he felt like my great uncle, who can teach great skills of becoming a man and fitness that he would be great as a coach boxer!
Therefore, the manager should be aware of this and should praise them both!
