Very disappointing experience at this Tesco. Some staff seem far more interested in receiving praise and recognition than in simply providing good customer service. Ironically, the staff I genuinely appreciate are usually the ones who never ask for praise, they just do their jobs properly and treat customers with respect. The final straw for me was at the customer service checkout. I had one item, while another customer had more than five items. Despite the clearly displayed “up to 5 items” limit, the member of staff deliberately invited the other customer to go ahead of me. When the rule is clearly stated, it should apply consistently to everyone. It is frustrating when basic fairness and customer service seem to depend on who the staff member chooses to favour. I have previously had positive experiences with some individuals at this branch, but repeated experiences like this have changed my view. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this Tesco. A branch earns customer loyalty through consistent, respectful service, not through staff seeking recognition for doing the bare minimum.

The fridges are always out of order, and even when they're on, they don't keep food frozen. Recently, they've been keeping the covers over the chilled fridges, which staff told me was due to them being out of order. I was told that it's at our own risk should we buy the chilled food, which doesn't sound legal. The food is either safe to sell or it's not. As an Express shop, the prices are way higher than a typical big Tesco, which is a bit dubious seeing as it is very much a big Tesco. Staff are really friendly and helpful, and the only positive I can say about this shop.

Went to grab some fruit, theres mold in the green crates where they stock the fruit and majority of it is going off tomorrow supposedly. Yet iv bought fruit from there before which was said not to expire for atleast 3 or 4 days yet upon opening the packet there was fruit molding. I didnt think id need a recipt so i didnt grab one, when going back to the store they refused me of getting my money back or exchanging it because i didnt have a recipt.
