  Today we had breakfast at Tesco Café, and I have to say I was extremely shocked by the lack of staff and the overall standard of cleanliness. We had to wait a considerable amount of time for our breakfast, while many of the tables were covered in dirty dishes. There didn’t seem to be enough staff available to clear and clean the tables, which left the café looking extremely untidy. However, my biggest concern was the hygiene of the cutlery. We had to ask for our cutlery to be changed three times, as on every occasion it was visibly filthy. This is completely unacceptable, particularly in a café serving food to customers. I’m honestly not sure how this store has passed its hygiene rating when the basic standards of cleanliness appeared to be so poor. Unfortunately, the food itself didn’t improve the experience. Our breakfast was lukewarm, and the toast was literally undercooked, as you can see from the photos. Would I go back again? Definitely not. This was a very disappointing experience, particularly given the concerns around hygiene.

  The Only downside is anything you order takes 40 minutes Even French toast I don’t get why they just don’t put that on the menu so you’re well informed before you order So if you want a quick speedy breakfast, don’t come here

  It's not our first visit to Tesco extra cafe. But the first time we were served by Jenny. Very pleased with the kindness of Jenny and customer service skills. Big thank you, Jenny!
