  I had a strange experience this time. Our waitress was rather rude whilst I was talking and discussing the menu with my partner – she kept interrupting and giving her opinion on the dishes. She also kept touching my back; why on earth would you touch a stranger? It made me feel very uncomfortable. They forgot to bring part of our order, but brought the bill without being asked. It was around 10.30pm and the kitchen was closing, but when trays and plates are clattering down one after the other, it’s veeeery loud – do bear this in mind if you’re booking dinner here and expecting a quiet, cosy spot. Food was good.

  Celebrated my mums birthday with the bottomless brunch. This is the second time coming, first time I went to the Canary Wharf branch and I can confirm there was better. It took a while for them to take our order, but I could tell they were understaffed. We booked the brunch for 3:15, the brunch wasn’t explained to us but luckily I had been there before. We had only 2 drinks 45mins in after complaining the waiter was good and explained he will make sure he topped up our drinks. After receiving our first cold starters after 45min into our 2 hour brunch we were told that the kitchen would close. This meant we had to pre order starters (as it was unlimited) that we hadn’t even received yet. I think it should be explained while booking that the kitchen closes at 4 as we felt like we had to rush and didn’t get to choose our food as and when we pleased. The food was amazing, which is why we came back they came out with a new vegetarian dish which was lovely 10/10 but the service could’ve had improved we felt like we were forgotten having to flag down the waiter. The manager did apologise for a rowdy group after they had left but I would’ve been nicer to have attentive service.

  ROKA, give Kumar a raise… or at least a microphone! 😂 We came to ROKA for dinner but ended up getting a comedy show with excellent service thrown in for free! Kumar was an absolute legend his humour was brilliant, his service was outstanding and his timing was perfect. He kept us laughing throughout the evening while making sure we had everything we needed. Jokes aside, Kumar genuinely made our dinner special. His warm personality and great attention to detail made us feel very welcome and well looked after. Kumar, you fed us well, made us laugh and gave us a night to remember! The food was amazing, but Kumar was the main course of entertainment. Highly recommended especially if you get Kumar as your waiter! 🙌haha

  ★★★★★ We had such a fantastic experience at the Shochu Lounge at ROKA Charlotte Street. From start to finish, the service was exceptional, and the attention to detail really stood out. The team went above and beyond to make sure everything was spot on, particularly when it came to looking after the guests at our event. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive. It made such a difference and ensured the whole experience ran smoothly. The Shochu Lounge itself is the perfect setting — the atmosphere, music, décor and overall vibe were amazing. It feels stylish and special while still being relaxed and welcoming. And the food… honestly, insanely good. Every dish was delicious, beautifully presented and went down incredibly well with our guests. A huge thank you to the whole team for making the event such a success. The perfect spot for an event, celebration or just a really great meal. We couldn’t fault it and would absolutely recommend!

  I don’t know if it’s part of the same chain as Zuma… the fact is, it’s a cheap knock-off of the real Zuma… the real Zuma, not Zuma London… let’s say the proper Zumas like Ibiza, Madrid, Kitzbühel… etc… a copy of a copy that hasn’t turned out well. The staff, with the exception of a few, are decidedly inattentive… pretending to be busy rushing from one side to the other in a venue that isn’t exactly huge… so there’s room for improvement… We were freezing to death at a table right by the door with a constant draught… perhaps we were seated there because of the children, as usual, to be isolated in the most run-down part of the restaurant… as for the food, it was definitely not up to scratch… the tempura prawns weren’t great in terms of quality, both in the batter and the prawns themselves… the fillet wasn’t top quality… desserts like Zuma’s… but not quite, and you pay almost the same price for it… I repeat, a black-and-white copy of a Zuma… certainly not the Zuma in London, which is clearly not a Zuma meeting the chain’s true standards… I also noticed that the industrial-style ceiling is identical in both Zuma and Roka… perhaps they’re the same… oh well… I wouldn’t recommend it
