  Wow! Didn’t think I’d ever be leaving this review. We have been loyal, happy customers of ROKA for over 11 years now. Charlotte Street being our favourite branch (we’ve tried them all!) and always visit here as often as we can (5/6 times a year). We never ever complain and always champion good service good food and good people but today was a total let down!!!!!! Shoved in the corner and forgotten about is all I can say. Multiple waiters pandering to other tables - meanwhile we are left sitting there with empty plates and glasses for 25 minutes without any achknowledgement. Drinks order was wrong. Ribs were soooo fatty and inedible. Requested the bill and ignored twice. No one asked if the food was okay, did we want any more drinks. Nothing! It was my fiances birthday and they knew this too. A total let down and we can’t believe it!

  Outstanding lunch tasting menu. The starters are immaculate, as were our main dishes. The ladies at the running the restaurant are lovely and the gents serving us downstairs in the lounge were amazing also. I would highly recommend opting for their bottomless sparkling option.

  We came here on Saturday for date night and it was exceptional, all starters, the main and dessert, free flowing Prosecco, the atmosphere and the service! My Mrs loved it all too and left very happy. The manager, Athena was really friendly, bubbly and even gave us advice on how to have our beef sirloin which definitely didn’t disappoint. Athena gave us top customer service throughout and the staff couldn’t have filled up our drinks any quicker. Roka is well worth the money and we will definitely be back!

  I was excited to revisit Roka after many years and my word was it disappointing. They really do not care in the slightest about their marginal customer. The first issue was getting the worst table in the restaurant, near the back corner. There is zero point in putting guests there unless you don't want them to return. So we asked to move downstairs which wasn't much better but we were there. Normally you'd expect someone to ask why we wanted to move but the second issue was the staff were generally bored and disinterested. I think the main part is not to go back somewhere where you had a good time in the past, it probably won't meet expectations, but Roka took those expectations, torched them and then served them back to us with a hefty bill.

  I’ve been to Roka many times over the last 15 years. This time, the food was solid (it used to be excellent). I wanted to order the 50 pound premium set menu for myself and my friend - I had that page open on the menu. The waiter misunderstood (and I didn’t clock it). Ordered us the premium tasting menu. It was 140 a head versus 50. I didn’t really clock it until I had already left as was busy catching up with my friend. I called them and they said they would call back the next day. They did - but proceeded to say ‘we checked the cameras and you didn’t even look at the menu where the premium set menu is shown’. This is of course not accurate, and SO creepy - and is immediately suggesting I’m lying. I explained how unacceptable this was and they did wind up refunding 50 pounds a head back. But still - what an invasion of privacy and incredibly negative experience. Will not be going back I’m afraid, Roka.
