ROKA is an exceptional restaurant. The atmosphere is elegant, calm, and luxurious, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy an outstanding dining experience. The food is absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. What truly made our visit memorable was the impeccable service, attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Highly recommended, and we can't wait to come back 😊

The food was enjoyable overall, however, the dining experience is overshadowed by the ambience and the low standard of service. I booked this restaurant to mark a special occasion, we were seated for dinner service at 5.30pm at an awful table by the wall, surrounded by incredibly loud patrons from the "bottomless brunch" crowd. It was genuinely far too loud to have a normal conversation, the noise was migraine inducing. I did ask if we could move somewhere else; the other end of the restaurant looked a little quieter, this was dismissed by the staff. I feel like when booking, there needs to be a warning that the restaurant will feel like the smoking area of a club until after 6.30pm onwards. Unfortunately, the atmosphere definitely ruined the overall experience. It's nothing like the fine dining experience it used to be in its heyday.

Leaving this review wholly for Audrey who served us on 13/06, she was the most lovely, attentive and kind server I’ve had. Both my friends received their mains and I had waited over 40 minutes for mine to come (we took pictures of their food when it arrived so was able to compare when mine finally arrived). I asked a few staff members over and over when mine would come but she was the only one that really listened and took care of it, really appreciated her, the 5 star for service is just for her alone.

The food, service, wine and ambience were absolutely first rate. Andreas, who was our lead server was faultless and the presentation and taste of the food was really exceptional. A fabulous experience for all four of us (including a companion who is not a big fish eater, but he said it was one of the best meals he'd ever eaten!) and genuinely one of the best meals I've eaten in quite some time. It's not cheap but in the end, it felt worth every penny. I'd also like to add the the sommelier was also excellent, I'm afraid I can't recall her name, she was very helpful with the wine selection and not trying to push you towards the most expensive wines, which is not always the case in more upscale restaurants. Again, don't go expecting a cheap night out but I have to say that both tasting menus (we had the premium and seasonal between the four of us) were fantastic and - when you consider the amount and quality of the food - actually very good value in my mind. Outstanding and would highly recommend to anyone who loves Sushi or Japanese food in general.

I rarely leave negative reviews, and this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to leave a 1-star rating. My partner and I recently dined at Roka, expecting a high standard of food and service given the prices. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The service was poorly coordinated. Our starters did not arrive together, and when I asked where my partner’s starter was, I received no explanation. It eventually arrived after I had already finished mine. To make matters worse, my main course arrived before my partner had even finished their starter. There were several other issues throughout the meal. The soup starter was served without a spoon, and when we asked for one, the waitress seemed confused as to why we would need it. My cod miso arrived cold, and my partner’s steak didn’t arrive until around 10 minutes later. When I informed the staff that my main course was cold, they took it away and returned what appeared to be the exact same piece of fish after simply reheating it. By that point, my appetite had completely gone, and I was unable to finish the meal. The most disappointing part was the lack of care shown when I raised concerns. When I requested that the service charge be removed, I expected a manager to ask what had gone wrong or at least show some interest in our experience. Instead, the lady I believe was the manager simply removed the charge, returned to the till, and appeared to smirk when I made the request. My partner and I have dined at restaurants ranging from casual venues to high-end establishments, and we understand that mistakes can happen. However, what sets good hospitality apart is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, there was no attention to detail, no communication, and no genuine concern for customer satisfaction. I’ve received far better service at restaurants charging a fraction of the price. Based on this experience, I would not return and cannot recommend it.
