  Love it when a popular chain from elsewhere comes over. It has to be good. Mediterranean rooted healthy balanced dishes had me sold. The open kitchen and very earth based decor set the vibe and brings to life the philosophy of zero artificial stuff. Tasty bases which is very easy to customise with lots of veggie options. Not a plain salad in sight. Interesting seating options which I don't think is optimised for eating at or serving with staff bringing wrong orders or seen walking around in circles looking for tables.

  I absolutely loved the food at Hg Soho and really hope they maintain this excellent quality! Having also visited the Barcelona location, I personally preferred the food in London. The staff were friendly, and the customer service was good overall. However, when we arrived around 6 pm on Sunday, several tables were still uncleared. Perhaps the restaurant was a little understaffed for such a busy evening, but the cleanliness could have been better. One other observation concerns staff attire. I appreciate the casual atmosphere, but I personally feel that casual workwear can still look professional. When a staff member came close to our table to clear the plates, her very short T-shirt left her midriff exposed, which made me feel a little uncomfortable in that close interaction. I appreciate that I may not be familiar with the restaurant's dress code, but I thought it was worth mentioning as constructive feedback. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would happily return. With a little more attention to cleanliness during busy periods, the experience could easily be five-star!

  Was greeted at the entrance by Saif who very kindly helped me navigate the rather confusing and unclear menu. I was futher helped by Julita at the till who explained the difference between the available sides and the extra sides. Will and Sergio kindly helped me find seats in the nicely decorated downstairs area. Aaliyah, Gabi, and Marta were wonderful servers, and Praise and Natalia very kindly kept our table tidy and were of great help. On the way out I had a lovely chat with Paulina who recommended the app for faster service in the future. The staff was amazing, just with the menu and ordering system was more intuitive.

  We gave up waiting for our meals after an hour, during which we checked with staff twice and were simply told "it's busy." We walked out without any food, our evening out basically ruined. Needless to say, this kind of wait is totally unacceptable, especially when the food in question is a salad. It was also not a pleasant place to wait in for an hour - an airless, noisy, chaotic basement. Would not recommend. To give the manager credit, he did offer us a free pastry on the way out.

  HONEST GREENS 🥬 …which were honestly, not worth the hype. I had heard RAVING reviews. The line was around the block the THREE times I tried to go beforehand. So, when I finally had the chance, I was excited for culinary masterpieces, the best salad/bowl to grace my palate, something worth coming all the way from Madrid for. I wish I had lowered my expectations. Not to say the inside wasn’t nice - I could see why people liked to hang out there, but the mediocrity of my bowl and drink were not up to par. I asked what I should get and was hit with: the stracciatella bowl with steak: already a whopping £16 (!) but was told by the cashier that I should really think about “upgrading my portion of steak to large” for an extra £5(!) because I will only really get “two little slivers”. No thank you - I was already getting their £3 refillable drink so was a bit short on the dosh. Those refillable drinks by the way? Every one of them was bland, and simply not good. Like a true reviewer, I sampled every one and experienced a moment of stranger bonding where this girl and I were confused when each and every one tasted like toilet water with a little bit of flavouring. We looked at each other laughed (a shocked laughter with a sliver of self shame: did I really pay for this?). It was nice however, that they found our table and brought us the food. The bowl had: 3 pieces of steak, 3 tiny blobs of stracciatella and caused my eye to twitch 3 times (this was a £22 expense overall) but I soldiered on (I was in excellent company and was very hungry). The bowl was ok. Already I was let down by my meagre side of steak and cheese (they should rename the bowl: fruit with if-we-feel-like-giving-you-some stracciatella), I would overall rate it a 6/10 My friend’s bowl: “underwhelming and gawd it did not match the hype”. Ultimately, would I go back? Perhaps to try the protein plate (do second chances exist?) or the cafe inside but overall, this is honestly not worth the hype (or your money).
