Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

There are good Greggs and bad Greggs. This one is the worst. The food is always cold, always! No matter what time of the day., it’s cold! The staff are no better with their lukewarm personality. No art of conversation, just shove a card reader in your face and tap, off you go with your cold sausage roll. The Greggs near Moorgate station is so much better.

Ordered the last sausage, bean and cheese melt, and it was given to another customer who came after me.
When realising that they had given my order away, the two members of staff just started laughing and joking between each other right in front of my face. I asked how long until a fresh batch was made, they said "5 minutes maybe" like they did not care. I know it's not that deep but it was strange to feel so alienated for wanting to receive what I had ordered and paid for.
I was offered to choose another item, but I declined and asked for a refund. The staff kept laughing and saying "no it was your fault ahah" to each other like some sort of joke.
I've worked in retail and hospitality before, and I would never treat people this way. Bear in mind there is a hospital really close and some people are going to be receiving bad news, I'd ask the team to try to be more sensitive and kind.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
