About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

horrible service, I didn't catch the servers name but he rolled his eyes and sighed taking my order, as if making an albeit mediocre iced latte was an attack to him, not me!

I regularly visit Greggs and unfortunately the service and food quality at Gallions Reach are consistently disappointing. The shelves are often empty, and there appears to be little effort to keep popular items such as chicken pasties, sausage rolls, onions pasties etc available. On many occasions, the pasties on display are cold, while no fresh batches are being cooked. Customers are expected to buy the cold products rather than wait for the freshly baked ones, which is frustrating. The staff often seem uninterested, and the overall service feels poor compared to other Greggs branches. A bakery should be offering fresh, hot food where possible, especially during busy periods.Especially during the time when everyone is living on a budget. I hope management reviews staffing levels, stock availability, and customer service standards, as this branch does not reflect the quality I normally expect from Greggs. This is the worst Greggs branch I have visited, and I now avoid it whenever possible.

Fantastic customer service from Khalid. He has been professional and courteous with every customer throughout the day — a great welcoming presence. He keeps the site well managed and tidy, and I will definitely be returning.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
