About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Got a pack of yum yums yesterday, got home and began to to eat them and there was a long hair attached to the pastry, I felt physically sick and disgusted by this, when you buy food you don’t expect to find hairs on it. The food should be quality checked before being put out for customers to buy, I will not be returning!

Horrendous; staff are sour and look like they want to get you out of the way as soon as possible, wave dismissively to get you to pay. I got a ‘roast chicken’ sandwich; but I basically paid for a plain roll and a few strips of chicken - all they had done was put a thin layer of chicken at the front to make it look like it was filled. But there was only about a 2cm wall of chicken and the other 5-6cm in the roll was empty. Better just to pay for a 50p white bread roll from the supermarket, this is ridiculous

I visited this Greggs branch at Liverpool Street today, and the store was unbearably hot. I asked a member of staff why the air conditioning wasn’t on, and they told me they weren’t allowed to turn it on. During a heatwave, this is unacceptable. It seems like management is trying to cut costs at the expense of both employees and customers. The staff have to work in these conditions all day, and customers shouldn’t have to stand in a store that feels like an oven. I hope management reviews this policy and puts the health and wellbeing of both staff and customers first.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
