About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Had to pop in for a speedy snack (Vegan Sausage Roll) less than 5 minutes before closing time and the staff graciously let me buy it despite having already closed up the indoor dining areas. Very grateful to them as I was so hungry and really in need of a cheap eat.

This Greggs is quite a big store which very close to the Monument station, and the inside of this store has a good amount of seats. It’s can be busy in the morning or office hours, but in general it’s not that packed. The staff in general is friendly and the service is fast enough. However, most tables and chairs are quite dirty.

Great little Greggs, with seating. Have to congratulate the staff team (Mahbuloa, Isabelle, Ifaz and Nabeel) the lovely service when ordering and for keeping the place clean and presentable, as well as food freshly topped up for customers 👏

A true British classic for cheap, quick comfort food — especially if you want a sausage roll, bake, or coffee without spending much. Greggs is not about atmosphere or specialty quality; it’s about speed, convenience, and value. The pastries and hot snacks are reliable, portions are decent, and it’s hard to beat for an inexpensive breakfast or lunch in London. 💬 London reality: People either genuinely love Greggs or completely don’t get the hype — but it’s undeniably part of British everyday culture.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
