Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

One of the workers is too lazy to do anything. I tell him I’m going to be taking the order away on a bike so can you put it in a bag, and he pleads with me saying something alone the lines of “but I have to do so much, it won’t spill just take it”. Second time I went I told him to put another cover on the drink, and I think we both know I meant lid, as he looked hesitant (to do his job), and he came back with a sticker and plopped it ontop of the lid. He knows I was taking it on a bike and he repeatedly tells me “just hold it in your hand, it won’t spill”, I’m shocked at how lazy and useless this worker is. I had to inform him that you need two hands to ride a bike… On top of that, he doesn’t put any effort to accommodate and give me the cup holder (already told him I will be taking the order on a bike) unless I explicitly ask, not only that but I would then need to INSIST, as I did the other times with the other things I asked for, and as a result of all of this laziness and terrible service my cup spilt in the bag. This has to be the laziest most useless worker I've come across, I’m flabbergasted that he even managed to get a job. Fire him.

Rudely shouted at me saying that they were closed despite making a sale and having plenty of food on display…wouldn’t have been so bad if they were polite about it.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
