About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I visited this Greggs and purchased two muffins, one of each type. I presented my reusable water bottle to the member of staff serving me and asked if she could fill it with tap water. She refused, saying, “I can’t give it to you in that.” I accepted this and said, “Okay, I’ll get it elsewhere.” This refusal happened in front of a queue of other customers. I already had a reusable bottle and just wanted tap water. I did not want or need to purchase another bottle. There is a nearby Pret A Manger where customers can freely refill their reusable water bottles using a tap. There are also homeless people in the area around this Greggs, which customers visiting this branch will see. It made me concerned about the potential impact of refusing to fill someone’s reusable bottle with tap water, particularly for people who may not have regular access to a tap.

Miserable young girl decided to make fun of my family for ordering a “strawberry” donut when it was pink and our family is from another country. She laughed at us and did not make us welcome her manager had to step. In where she kept laughing at us and we had small children. Not what I expect from your corporation. Hopefully someone sees this and takes care of her employment as I would not want other families to be ridiculed by this miserable woman

The breakfast omelette roll was a good day starter, basically a bread with egg, but nice. The caramel latte was surprisingly good. The overall deal was around 4.5£ so it was worth it.

Absolutely love Greggs! The food is always fresh, tasty, and great value for money. Whether it’s a sausage roll or a sweet treat, you can always count on consistent quality. The staff are friendly and service is quick, making it a perfect stop during a busy day.

Wasn’t busy so service was super fast! The food wasn’t hot/warm but the flavor was good!

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
