Last Friday, I stumbled upon what looked like a charming Italian café. To my delight, I discovered that alongside Italian specialties, they also serve a wonderful selection of European dishes, including breakfasts that make it impossible to choose just one.
There were classic sandwiches and freshly baked pastries, unique egg boxes filled with hot, freshly cooked eggs to keep you going for half the day, and an impressive variety of yogurts. One particular option immediately caught my eye: a delicate green Matcha & Pistachio yogurt with chia seeds — two of my favorite things combined.
I can honestly say it was the most delicious breakfast and dessert I have ever had in one dish. The yogurt was perfectly creamy, just sweet enough, with a subtle hint of bitterness from the matcha, topped with fresh berries and crunchy granola. Absolutely heavenly.
Over the next few days, life got busy, but I couldn't stop thinking about that yogurt. For three days, I was looking forward to coming back for it.
To my complete disappointment, it had sold out by the time I returned.
Feeling rather heartbroken, I ordered eggs with smoked salmon and spinach instead.
Then the lovely young woman serving me said:
“I remember you from a few days ago. Would you like me to make a Matcha yogurt for you?”
“What a kind thing to offer — thank you so much!” I replied. “I'll take two, please.”
A cozy place, an outstanding menu, and truly wonderful staff.
Thank you for bringing a little piece of Italy to the heart of London.
