  The owner/manager was such a creep. He made me feel really uncomfortable. He was trying to get us to buy more drinks even after we politely declined but continued to push it. I felt as if he was watching all the girls as they walked past in a perverted kind of way. The rest of the staff were really nice and made the environment more comfortable, it's just a shame that the person in charge had to ruin it.

  My family and I just finished a late lunch here and enjoyed every bit. The food as delicious, the atmosphere pleasant and the staff was wonderful. The new owner attended to us (having acquired the pub a few months ago) and was super lovely. Our food- a fish and chips and two mushroom pies were delicious, the beer was ice cold and the dessert- 2 toffee puddings, were decadent. I highly recommend for an authentic pub experience that caters to both locals and tourists.

  We were in London having a look around old locations from when we used to live here. We called into the Cock & Lion by chance, and had the warmest welcome from Mark (the landlord). Mark and his colleague were so friendly and there was a great atmosphere in the pub. My wife is originally from Ireland (as is Mark) so there was a good chat straight away. We did not have any food, but enjoyed the very friendly atmosphere, good drinks and the air conditioning on such a hot day. We will definitely be back, as more pubs need to be like this one.

  A charming slice of old London in Marylebone Just had a wonderful visit to The Cock & Lion on Wigmore Street — Marylebone’s oldest pub (dating back to 1786!). Stepping inside feels like a proper time warp with the traditional low ceilings, horseshoe bar, cosy nooks, and that classic pub warmth. Perfect spot whether you’re popping in for a quick pint after Oxford Street shopping or settling in for a relaxed meal.  The ales were well-kept, and the pub classics we tried (fish & chips and [your dish, e.g., pie/steak]) were spot-on — fresh, generous portions, and properly comforting. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was lively but welcoming (great for watching sport too). It’s a real hidden gem tucked between Marylebone and Mayfair.  Will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend! 🍻

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Sterne Absolute 10 von 10 – eine klare Empfehlung! 🍻🥩 Ich hatte hier ein Steak und es war einfach perfekt – super zart, auf den Punkt gegart und geschmacklich wirklich eines der besten, die ich seit Langem gegessen habe. Meine Frau hatte den warmen Apfelkuchen mit Vanilleeis und das war ebenfalls ein absolutes Highlight. Einfach unglaublich lecker! Besonders begeistert hat uns auch das hauseigene lokale Bier. Es ist angenehm weich, süffig und erinnert ein wenig an ein leichtes deutsches Helles – man möchte direkt noch eins bestellen. 🍺 Der Service ist außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Dazu kommt die gemütliche Atmosphäre eines historischen Pubs, der bereits seit 1762 besteht. Man spürt die Geschichte des Hauses und kann dabei hervorragendes Essen und tolle Getränke genießen. Die Preise sind absolut fair und für die Qualität mehr als angemessen. Wer in London ist und ein authentisches Pub mit fantastischem Essen, leckerem Bier und tollem Service sucht, sollte unbedingt hier vorbeischauen. Klare 5 Sterne – wir kommen definitiv wieder! 🇬🇧✨
