  The 2 female staff at Co-Op food - Petrol the Angel very violently assaulted me without communication today. 1 stopped my exit, threw my food I paid for on the floor, then pushed and pulled at my head, pulled and ripped my bag. I literally just paid and I think they were accusing me of shoplifting but they didn’t open their mouths and say anything, only attacked me. The 2 female staff just violently attacked me, squeezing my arm and drawing blood. All this can be seen on the CCTV. I couldn’t even eat my food I was traumatised. What’s bad is the guy who served me came near and he couldn’t even open his mouth, was just abnormally looking into my pockets, he literally just served me and wasn’t telling them and they proceeded to assault me further. Also this Co-op claims they don’t accept card payments for Paypoint, they told me a few weeks ago ‘we are not a Co-op but we still use their name’.

  I went shopping on a random Friday night at 8pm, when I went in they were a lot of customers so I had a quick look at the plastic cup, and decided to go to the food in wine near old street instead as I know they sale cheaper one there. As I left the coop, I walked for maybe less than 5 meters and felt a stranger grabbing me from behind and squeezing me hard so I couldn’t escape. He then dragged me back to the coop as I was yelling « I have nothing you can check my bag » (a small plastic sainthbury bag that I had rolled inside the palm of my hand). He then pushed me inside the story, looked at my bag seeing that there was nothing in it, then felt all over my jacket and my pocket, again, saw that I had NOTHING. Then pushed me back outside and told me to never come again. This behavior is truly disgusting, as the man did not even apologized for what he just did, in front of maybe 10 customers. I go to this coop almost everyday day so I am ashamed by this completely uncalled for behavior, as the man was LOOKING at me the whole 30 seconds I was in that shop for… me being a teenager does not mean that I’m a thief. At least he should’ve apologized for what he did. Do better.

  I have lived locally for 10 years since they employed the old manager a African gentleman called Ben worked there he was an absolute star but since then they have replaced staff with just Asian staff ( all black were fired after Ben sacrificed his job so everyone else could carry on working… in the last month they have employed a new member of staff that has decided he will abuse customers that don’t fit his demographic. I tried to explain that I found his behaviour unacceptable but his response was to laugh and ban me from the store and ever since then I have taken my business elsewhere but have seen numerous locals treated as badly as I was and it seems that he he doesn’t care and nor do the other members of staff that entertain this behaviour. Unfortunately after 10 years I no longer go into this shop. Sad but I guess I’m Thai day and age you can get away with abusing customers if you don’t like the look of them.
