I was very disappointed with the customer service I received during my recent visit to this Co-op.
The young south Asian female staff member who served us was unnecessarily rude and confrontational from the start. She repeatedly interrupted my partner while he was trying to ask a simple question, stood with her arms folded throughout the interaction, and spoke to her supervisor in their own language in front of us instead of communicating professionally with us. Her tone and body language made us feel disrespected and looked down on.
While the supervisor eventually apologised, the staff member never did and continued with the same attitude. There is no excuse for treating customers this way. Professionalism, respect, and clear communication should be the minimum standard for anyone in a customer-facing role.
I hope Co-op takes this feedback seriously and addresses this young south Asian staff member's behaviour through appropriate training or disciplinary action. No customer should leave feeling disrespected because of the attitude of a member of staff.

I am not sure why reviews are so low. I slipped into the shop for some food and my hayfever allergies kicked in. Staff was very quick to notice and offer me some tissues when I was trying to buy some, saving me some money. Ended up loading up on food more than expected without a basket. Staff was quick to offer assistance to carry items to the till.
I am extremely happy to slap these 5 stars to my review because my personal experience today was absolutely stellar.
There are pros and cons for this branch.
It's a lifesaver if you live in Gainsborough Studios (or close by) as you can get there easily, irrespective of the weather.
Some staff members are extremely helpful but some could improve their attitude and expression. Some are surly and will almost walk through you without warning or apology while they are restocking etc.
The store also needs to be better manned. There have been times when it looks like there is no staff member anywhere.
There was a spate of brazen shoplifting a few months ago, whether by homeless people filling up their bags or kids just taking things and walking out. More often than than not, nothing is done. The lack of staff might exacerbate the situation.
Other posters have referred to the BO issue. It's a small store and this is a real problem which is easily fixable. The thing is that the BO seems to come from the surly ones so maybe there is a biological correlation!
Finally, they need to instruct the delivery truck drivers to turn off the very noisy refrigeration unit as a rule, wherever possible. Every driver agrees to do this when asked (and previously approached drivers tend to refrain) so any new ones need to be told/reminded,
