  Worst shop in Chiswick. The prices are exorbitont, with some basic items more than twice the price of the nearby Sainsburys. They also sell out-of-date food and there's a refrigerator that perpetually smells like a dead rat. It's been like that for months...why is no one sorting it out?!

  Last week.. I purchased a yfood shake and two bananas and used the self-checkout. After scanning my items, the machine appeared to glitch when I pressed “pay.” I selected card payment and paid via contactless on my phone. It was only after the transaction went through that I realised additional items had somehow been added to the total, and I had been charged more than I should have been. I approached the staffed till to explain the issue. The colleague who assisted me appeared visibly irritated from the outset. While she processed the refund, she stated, “check next time otherwise you will be paying,” in what I experienced as a patronising tone. Her body language and manner made me feel as though I was being blamed for the situation rather than helped. At that point, I felt too uncomfortable to further explain what had actually happened with the machine, as I already felt upset and somewhat intimidated by the interaction. I also work in hospitality and have done so for the past decade, so I fully understand how busy and stressful customer-facing environments can be. However, I would never speak to a customer in that manner, particularly when they are raising a legitimate issue with a faulty till. I often feel uncomfortable in this branch due to the way the security guard closely hovers around customers and appears unapproachable. While I understand the need for security, the overall atmosphere can feel tense rather than welcoming.

  The shelves are usually empty or half empty. The quality of products is good but just be careful, the best before dates might be expired sometimes. It’s better to be checked before purchasing. 🤓
